A cleaning assistant, store employee, bartender and other jobs in the service sector do not have the same requirements as are now imposed on a taxi driver. It has been decided today that a taxi driver's Danish knowledge must at least correspond to Danish level 2, both in writing and verbally.
Previous demands that a participant in a taxi qualification course must be able to speak Danish have not worked, according to the government, Radical Left, SF, Left, Conservative and Danish People's Party, which are the parties behind the new agreement made March 16, 2021. But the new rule is met with criticism from parties outside the agreement.
The hauliers (vognmænd in Danish) must now also document that they have either passed the test in Danish level 2 or the primary and lower secondary school's final examination in Danish.
