8.1.2.4.1 Narcotics

The Danish drug legislation states that it is prohibited to import, export, sell, buy, deliver, receive, manufacture, process, or possess drugs, unless they are used for medicine or research purposes. A violation of the Narcotics Act can result in a fine, imprisonment, or both. In particularly serious cases, deprivation of liberty can be as long as 16 years.

The penalty for breaking this law varies depending on the type of drug and the amount involved. Typically, possessing a small quantity of drugs is considered personal use, and you will likely be fined, especially if it’s your first offense. However, possessing a large quantity of drugs with the intent to resell will result in a prison sentence.
